Vice President
Risa Takenaka, originally from Japan, has considerable experience in economic and public policy research in the U.S. with focus on socio-economic issues. She has consulted on many projects emphasizing the economic advancement of marginalized populations. Her work also addressed non-profit organization implementation and program evaluation in the U.S. as well as cross-national analyses of non-profit leadership in the Middle East. As such, her skills range from statistical modeling to participatory action research.
Holding a Bachelor of Arts in economics and a Master of Science in public policy, Risa is committed to community and civic engagement. To this end, she has served on boards of directors for a number of non-profit organizations focused on international human rights, education, and governance.
In her spare time, as a member of Boston Lykeion Ellinidon, she enjoys learning Greek folk dance and she aims to contribute to its mission to promote the Hellenic culture in the U.S.
